Dear Room 22 at Greenfields Primary School,

I have heard about the fantastic research you have been doing on environmental studies. My Environment Minister, the Hon Tony Burke MP, has shown me the concerns you sent to him.

I would like to ask for your assistance on this important issue.

In May I will be visiting Perth, with Mr Burke, and would like to extend to you an opportunity to present your findings on the world's biomes at our conference. The Premier, Mr Colin Barnett and the West Australian Environment Minister, Mr Bill Marmion, will also be in attendance.

I believe this is an excellent opportunity for you to extend your studies and research with a real-life context and purpose. The results of your findings will be used in conjunction with our own research for continuing efforts to protect our fragile environments around the world.

I look forward to meeting you all in May.

Yours faithfully,

Ms Julia Gillard
Prime MInister of Australia
